An exhibition of works by Leanne Simmons, on from Tuesday 1st February until Saturday 26th February 2022 at ArtsTrail.

Born in Coventry, Leanne studied for her masters degree on a scholarship at The University of California in Los Angeles in her early twenties. She used her time in America to develop sketching skills, drawing places of interest in Los Angeles such as Santa Monica Pier. Taking inspiration from her regular visits to The Getty Center, Leanne enjoyed experimenting with effects used by other artists’ works displayed there.

Today, she lives in Warwickshire with her family creating paintings using oil paints and watercolours in her studio. Leanne’s passion for painting comes from an enjoyment of connecting with others through her art. Her striking skyscapes are made alla prima with oil paints and use brush strokes to add dimension and feeling to produce vibrant, emotion provoking pieces of art. She has a real love of wildlife and nature and most of her work involves capturing the things that bring her pleasure on canvas or paper. “I paint with the hope of evoking feelings of joy or other emotions to anyone viewing my pieces,” says Leanne.

Leanne will be exhibiting at Warwickshire Open Studios Summer Arts Week 2022 and at the Leamington Spa Art in the Park festival this year. She is currently a member of the Kenilworth Artists and the Coventry & Warwickshire Society of Artists.

Staycation exhibition is open from the 1^st – 26^th February at the ArtsTrail Gallery, Royal Priors Centre, Leamington Spa from 11am – 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.

Opportunity to meet the artist at a private viewing will take place on Sunday 6^th February from 1-4pm at the Artstrail Gallery with food and refreshments available for guests. Children and adults are welcome.
