Christina McKinlayI was born in Glasgow and lived in Clydebank until moving to Coventry.

I completed The Foundation Art and Design course in Nuneaton and the Access to Fine Art course in Warwickshire College, Leamington.

I am completely fascinated by people, absorbed by portraits and the figure.

I like to make marks with my paint, rather than try for a photographic smoothness. I want to creatively capture a likeness.

In my life drawing, I also love to explore mark making building up my drawing with a complex pattern of marks and varied line.

I have worked in all mediums and more recently painted portraits in pastel.

I am currently interested in exploring the different classical methods of painting in oils.
